Welcome to Timberline Coffee School

Your coffee journey is unique, and we’re here to help you take it further. Whether you’re pulling your first espresso shot, refining your sensory skills, or training for competition, this is about you—your growth, your goals, and your next steps in coffee.

We’ve been baristas, roasters, trainers, competition competitors and judges, and business owners. We know what it’s like to learn, struggle, and grow, which is why we created Timberline Coffee School—a place where you can develop your skills with the support of people who’ve been in your shoes.

Just like the timberline marks the point where growth meets challenge, learning coffee is about stepping beyond what feels familiar and discovering what you’re capable of. We believe education should be hands-on, engaging, and memorable—giving you the skills and confidence to take your next step.

We’re excited to be part of your journey and can’t wait to see where it takes you.

Our Mission

To provide practical, hands-on coffee education that helps you to excel in the industry, whether you're a barista, roaster, competitor, or coffee business owner.

Why We Started Timberline

Making quality coffee education more accessible in Calgary. That’s why Timberline Coffee School was founded—to bridge the gap between passionate learners and professional-level training. We saw that many baristas, café owners, and coffee lovers struggled to find structured, hands-on learning opportunities that fit their goals. We wanted to change that.

Beyond structured courses, we also wanted to create something truly special—learning experiences that are immersive, adventurous, and community-driven.

That’s why we introduced Timberline Coffee Camps, where skills development meets connection, exploration, and unforgettable experiences. At our camps, students dive deep into coffee while exploring the local food, nature, and specialty coffee scene—because we believe coffee is about more than just technique, it’s about community and discovery.
